There's much disappointment in the blogosphere that the big story turns out to be just another Kerry lie. Add "I met with the whole UN security council" to being in Cambodia, running in the Boston Marathon, watching the ball roll through Buckner's legs, 35 bills that became laws and so on and on.
Interesting thing about this story, aside from the lies Kerry tells for which the MSM will never hold him accountable, is that, even if it were true, it's bad for Kerry. He talked to the security council to see how serious they were about holding Saddam responsible and he came away convinced that they were committed to the sanction. We know this is not true; many of the members of the council and the UN itself were up to their eyeballs in the corruption that allowed Saddam to circumvent the sanctions. And Kerry naively took them at their word.
This is Kerry's reflexive internationalism.
